About the Kindergarten
Waikanae kindergarten is situated about 70 minutes north of Wellington on the beautiful Kapiti Coast in the garden suburb of Waikanae. The kindergarten is set in a nature reserve in large well resourced park like grounds.
There is a team of 4 teachers and there is a mix of 6 hour sessions for older children and 4 hour sessions for younger children (see details of times on the website). The kindergarten feeds into 2 local schools and has a close relationship with each of them.
The teachers are all very interested in the environment and so part of the culture of the kindergarten is to provide children with experiences with gardening and natural science. Parental involvement is encouraged and valued and we have a very supportive and enthusiastic committee
