About the Kindergarten
We provide children with an environment whereby the children can grow into competent learners who are self motivated, problem solve, follow their interests, set challenges for themselves and learn with and alongside each other. We celebrate all children’s learning. We provide the children and whānau with an environment where they are always welcome and we encourage their contribution and participation into our programme. We work in partnership with whānau of our community.
Our Programme
As part of the focus within the kindergarten Paparangi are using a theory of education called Place-Based Education. Place-based education has four main areas of focus - connecting children with the community they live in, becoming ecologically aware, breathing life ito history and understanding and celebrating the cultural life of our local community.
